I am a native Calgarian, born and raised amidst the cityscape, yet always nurturing a deep longing to set my roots in the countryside.
As a child, I immersed myself in competitive show jumping with horses, fostering a profound connection with animals from an early age.
Known among friends as the go-to person for advice and solace, I harbored a desire to offer meaningful support and guidance, even if the right words weren't always readily available.
Following a brief foray into Equine Sciences, my fascination with the intricacies of the human mind and behavior led me to pursue a degree in psychology. Subsequently, I found myself drawn to a role in a residential treatment program, where I dedicated several years of service before embarking on the adventure of motherhood.
Raising my children has undoubtedly been my most challenging yet deeply fulfilling endeavor. Having firsthand experience of the trials and triumphs of parenthood, I intimately understand the complexities of balancing familial responsibilities amidst life's myriad obstacles.
As my children grew more independent, I felt a stirring ambition to delve deeper into the field of psychology. This led me to pursue a master's degree in Counseling from City University of Seattle, fueled by an unwavering aspiration to become a psychologist.
During my academic journey, I undertook a final project exploring the profound impact of animal-assisted therapy on children with Autism—a subject close to my heart. My fervent dream is to one day establish a treatment farm where the therapeutic presence of my beloved animals can offer invaluable support to individuals grappling with various mental health challenges—a perfect amalgamation of my two passions.
Throughout my career, I have gained invaluable experience across diverse mental health settings, including schools, residential treatment facilities, the non-profit sector, and counseling services for our city's most vulnerable communities.
Drawing from this rich tapestry of experiences, I am dedicated to supporting adolescents, adults, and parents as they navigate the complexities of anxiety, relationship dynamics, educational concerns, life transitions, and the intricate journey of parenthood.
